Sadly A Goodbye

This is one of my most hated moments of college life.  The moment after an incredible summer that the time comes for you and your friends to separate all over again.  Whether it's friends you've already adjusted to being apart from, or someone new leaving, it just plain stinks.  You can say "It's only for the school year", or "We can call/FB/Facetime" it doesn't change the fact that when you call up that person to hang out they won't be there.  It doesn't change the fact that they won't be 4 minutes away.  It doesn't change the fact that your relationship is going to change.
This all becomes a little bit harder if you felt that your friendship was evolving into something new, something marvelous.  But suddenly, you're out of time, out of courage and things are left unfinished and unsaid.  That is what makes this all so much worse.  Because at the moment you realize you didn't finish what you wanted to complete it makes the dread and sadness only that much stronger.
People say grab the moment while you have it.  They say have courage, tell people what you feel, lay it all out before it's too late.  But that is one of the hardest things in the world to do.  I love the quote in We Bought A Zoo,

"You know, sometimes all you need is twenty seconds of insane courage. Just literally twenty seconds of just embarrassing bravery. And I promise you, something great will come of it."

Well Readers.  I believe in that quote.  But sadly, when my moment came....I didn't have the courage.  Sometimes in life it doesn't all go the way you imagined.
