Tonight I made the decision to go ahead and go out in the cold for one of those lame college events where they play a movie, and a prof talks and 5 people show up. So me and my friend hit the campus up for some good food, a talk with Dr. Professor, and "Breakfast At Tiffany's". Gotta love the classics! But that's not the point OBVIOUSLLYYYY. The point is, you know the end? When "Fred" is yelling at Holly about how she is the one putting herself in the cage? You know what I mean? This quote... "You call yourself a free spirit, a "wild thing," and you're terrified somebody's gonna stick you in a cage. Well baby, you're already in that cage. You built it yourself. And it's not bounded in the west by Tulip, Texas, or in the east by Somali-land. It's wherever you go. Because no matter where you run, you just end up running into yourself." Remember that one?
Well...it got me thinking. Don't we all put ourselves in a cage? They're all different but each of us has one. It could be self consciousness, fear, anger, or even a secret longing we feel trapped by? Do you feel trapped in a cage of routine, or hopelessness, or even a relationship you know you shouldn't be in? What is your cage? Are you a vibrant bird crying to get out? Are you denying yourself that freedom? Or are you seeking the pick to open the lock? Or even the One to break you out? Well reader, open the cage door and fly free! Be who you should be, not who you want to be, and let yourself free from whatever has trapped you in.
